"But you’re not even armed, so how will you protect me." Her eyes narrowed in speculation. "Unless..."
"I was supposed to convince you to leave. Help you with the horses if needed, but hopefully stay out of any of the fighting. I am not useless if it comes to a fight, but am better suited for other types of battles than what is coming.
