Tales about men turning into wolves have been part of the lore of nearly every civilization. Accounts have sometimes been taken seriously and other times ridiculed as the ravings of madness. But nevertheless, there is a consistency that lends a certain believability to the tales. What if certain elements of the tales are true? You may never again doubt the dangerous reality of those not-so-mythic beasts once you have learned about the history of one such group.

The origins of the Valàfrn werewolves began with one man unfairly cursed. For only three days each moon cycle was Vali able to take human form. All the others were claimed by the wolf half of his heart. Vali accepted it as his burden until the time when the curse was passed onto his children. Only then did he pledge his honor to seek out a way that his children could live free. He succeeded far beyond his expectations. The children of Vali were born again as children cursed no more. Indeed they became children blessed. They were strong and wild. Centuries passed and they remained strong, but they were somewhat tamed as they learned about honor. With honor and strength they saw that they had a certain amount of duty to the other peoples of the nine realms. Courage to do what is right even in the face of many wrongs became their creed.

The children divided into groups which they called clans and spread across the earth, blending among the other peoples, but never forgetting their own. They were a people of honor, strength and courage and they are among you.
